Return and Refund Policy

Overview
At AutoSmart Parts, we want you to feel confident shopping with us. This policy explains the terms for returns, exchanges, and refunds for purchases made through autosmartparts.com.au. By placing an order, you agree to the conditions below.
1. 30-Day Return Window
You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return.
To be eligible, the item must be:
- Unused and in resalable condition
- In its original packaging, with all included accessories, manuals, and parts
- Free from signs of installation, wear, scratches, dirt, fluids, or odors (where applicable)
- Accompanied by proof of purchase (order confirmation or invoice)
- Returns that do not meet these conditions may be refused or may qualify for a partial refund (see Section 7).
2. How to Start a Return or Refund
To request a return, exchange, or refund, email us at: contact@autosmartparts.com.au within 30 days of receiving your order.
Please include:
- Order number
- Item(s) you want to return or exchange
- Reason for the request
- Clear photos/videos, if applicable (especially for damaged, defective, or incorrect items)
Important: Do not send items back until you receive Return Authorization and instructions from our team. Returns sent without authorization may be delayed or rejected.
3. Return Shipping Costs

If we made an error (wrong item, defective item, or item damaged in transit):
We will provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs (subject to approval). -
Change of mind (preference, ordered the wrong item, no longer needed):
The customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

Packaging rules:
- Pack items securely to avoid transit damage
- Use a tracked shipping service
- Email us your tracking number once shipped
5. Exchanges
If you’d like an exchange (e.g., different variation, size, or color where applicable):
- We’ll confirm stock availability before authorizing the return
- If the exchange is due to change of mind, return shipping is at the customer’s expense
- After we receive and inspect your return, we will issue store credit for the product value (excluding original shipping fees)
- You can use this credit to place a new order for the replacement item
- If the requested exchange item is out of stock, you may use the store credit toward any other product.
Exchange Processing Time
After the return is received and approved, the replacement order is typically processed within 5 business days. Delivery times depend on your location (see Shipping Policy).
6. Refund Eligibility & Process
Refunds are issued only after we receive and inspect the returned item and confirm it meets the eligibility requirements.
Refund Timeline
- Inspection: 1–2 business days after we receive the return
- Approval: confirmation sent by email
- Refund issued: within 5 business days after approval
- Bank processing time: typically 2–7 business days (varies by payment provider)
If more than 15 business days have passed since approval and you haven’t received your refund, contact us at contact@autosmartparts.com.au.
7. Partial Refunds or Return Denials
If an item is returned:
- used, installed, worn, or damaged (not due to our error), or
- missing original packaging/accessories, or
- not in resalable condition,
- we may:
- issue a partial refund up to 50%, or
- return the item to you without a refund (shipping costs may apply)
We’ll notify you by email with photos and the reason for the decision.
8. Sale & Promotional Items
Items purchased during sales or promotions are eligible for return under the same conditions, as long as they meet the standard return requirements.
9. Non-Returnable / Non-Refundable Items
We do not accept returns or refunds for:
- Gift cards
- Items not returned in original condition or with missing parts not due to our error
- Any item returned outside the 30-day window (unless required by law)
10. Refund Method
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout.
We do not issue cash refunds or refunds to alternative accounts.
11. International Returns & Refunds
International orders follow the same procedure.
- For defective/damaged/incorrect items: we provide return assistance and instructions
- For change of mind: the customer is responsible for return shipping costs
- Mark packages as “Returned Merchandise” to help avoid unnecessary customs fees (where applicable)
Taxes & Duties
Customs duties and import taxes charged by your country are not refundable by AutoSmart Parts, as they are collected by government authorities.
12. Lost or Damaged Orders
If your order arrives damaged or appears lost in transit:
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery (or the estimated delivery date)
- Provide photos of damage (including packaging) if applicable
- After verification with the carrier, we will offer (at our discretion):
- a replacement
